Everytime I do a search and then click for the next page results I get a Lycos search popunder. It has been following me for days and I am sick of it. How do I make it go away? I was also attacked by popups earlier tonight but seem to be rid of those now. My entire night has been wasted running ad-aware, spy bot search and destroy and other things.

Try my tips at www.ecomcity.com/news.htm and even do the online xBlock scan/remove. I'm pushing Mozilla Firefox and their nifty e-mail program on my shoppers after a 1 week test period. Get it and let it import your IE settings www.mozilla.org and let us know your thoughts.

I got firefox last weekend. Tried to uninstall IE last night but seems that is not an easy task. I make sites for other people so I have to check them in IE... too bad. As I sit here typing this popups are popping. Seems they have a delayed reaction.

Jane you can't get rid of IE if you have Windows XP as the browser in integrated into the desktop displays. Second is the Windows auto update and security patch settings use the IE browser for downloads. Best to just accept Firefox as the default browser, use their nifty e-mail program, and retire IE for just routine tasks.

I had a similar problem with a different se popping up. I did a bunch of searches and found a fix for it. It had nothing to do with spybot or adware. I was able to fix it..pretty easily, too. I know this probably isn't much help..but I hope it's some.

I have run ad-adware, spy bot search and destory and a few others that I can't think of the name of right now. Something with an x from your site Ecom.

Seems like I get a ton of popups after running search and destroy. When I left this morning the popups were back.. have to start over when I get home tonight. I also sent Lycos an email. I do have to wonder what is the point? I mean when popups are flying like crazy all around you... who the heck would pay any attention to anything they have to advertise?

After searching around I found this info and it seems to have solved the Lycos problem.

Look for a directory in programfiles called sep and run the uninstall program.
