I'm excited to announce my return traffic has exceeded my search engine traffic!! This is truely what I've been aiming for. Google is still giving me healthy amounts of traffic but all of a sudden my return traffic took the lead. I must have struck a nerve. Now I just need to keep these shoppers coming back for more, woo!

The most beautiful part is I've maintained this trend for 3 whole weeks.

Good job, now try and get your search engine traffic to top your return traffic so you can then have a higher goal of return traffic to shoot for.

Yes, my site design is very good. I try to make it easy to use and flexible. I've been building online applications for businesses for years, so it's fun to start making applications for the general public.

Haiko, not yet but it's definitely on my list. In order to compete with the big dogs I need a number of features. So far I'm just playing catch up with companies like techbargains, bizrate and pricegrabber.

WTG Snib! I never realized how important this metric was until I saw this thread. It made me go and check my stats:

    20.57% - (Direct Request)
    5.30% Google
    2.12% MSN
    1.74% Yahoo!
    0.36% AOL

This explains a lot about recent traffic and sales surges during what's supposed to be the " dog days of summer".

I think the best advice I can offer is to copy the huge sites. Don't look at standard affiliate sites for inspiration. Think about your visitors and offer them something useful. Put yourself in their shoes and give them an easy to follow path through your site. Never leave them at a dead end and always give them someplace new to click. There really is a difference between designing for the search engines and desigining for the users. The trick is doing both.
