I want to draw on your experience. In the next couple weeks I will be joining an affiliate network and setting up some programs. We create and sell satellite image prints and will be paying commissions (PPS). We have over 200 different titles (prints) and we have a dynamic response with regard to customer request for new titles.

    From your experience...

What networks do you prefer? and why?

What do you look for in choosing a program to participate in?

What things turn you off with regard to a program?

Thanks for your time and input.

    Kind Regards,

    WorldView Ventures, Inc.

    Hi Jonathan,

I look more at the merchant than the network. My sites are content sites and so I need merchants that fit rather than finding a merchant / network I'd like to build a site for - others do this the opposite way round.

Programme to participate in? To start with - Products, prices, commission rate, lack of parasites. To continue with, same again plus conversion rate unless the products are unique when I tend to keep the merchant but don't push them on high traffic pages so much.

I think your products would fit in with a couple of my my sites and I'd certainly be interested in joining. One thing bothers me - don't take this too harshly - your site has certainly had a bit of a seeing-to with the ugly stick.

If you're selling decorative products I feel they should be displayed in a tasteful environment or at least a bland one.

Just curious, where do you get your images? Do you have your own satellite?

I prefer the networks with combined paychecks- CJ and SAS.

    Hi, SatPrints,

You have got to be in one of the toughest markets there is!!

I would suggest your web site needs to update
it's text to Arial Bold or some other non-serif
font. It would give it a more engineering-like high-tech quality. Serif fonts are for Grandma's antiques site!

I would also get rid of the frames and use that dead space to display clickable thumbnail graphics that lead to a larger image with aerospace, topographic, geographic and geologic information in adddition to pricing and shipping information.

I noticed your home page loads VERY slowly on dial-up. I would suggest coding for speed.

I would also change to a smoother, more subtle background graphic. Your present background graphic draws attention away from the items you are trying to sell.

    Best of luck, SatPrints!
