Man can't wait till this day is over. This is a slow day, no sales have been logged. Hows your business today? getting sales? worst day in months. Traffic is at a good point but Sales are lagging.

They *surf* the net today fine--the traffic is fairly normal here too, so I don't think they think surfing is unpatriotic. They're just not actually buying anything!

In 2001 right after the attacks, Bush had made a speech that said that it *IS* patriotic to buy things (to keep the terrorists from screwing up our economy, was his reasoning), but the effect of that speech has long worn off. Last year Sept. 11th didn't have sales either.

I think that deep down, people believe engaging in consumerism on this day doesn't pay the proper respects to those killed. I can't say that I disagree despite the hit it causes to sales...

OK, thanks. I was wondering about all that, too.

Guess I am getting your sales I am having a good day for a Sunday (knock wood) and having a nice month. Not spectacular, but nice I'll take nice, steady, consistent sales over big spikes and then nothing any day... errr, month....

Still can't sell apparel or jewelry though, no matter what I try.

Funny I was just thinking about how the last two years nothing happened on the 11th. Everything was cancelled unless it involved memorial type things. Comedians, concerts, etc were always cancelled but this year it seems like everything was happening on sept 11th intentionally. We had 4 local towns with fireworks, celebrations and fun. I like this much better. To me I think we deserve to celebrate 911 as a day of heros. It's almost another 4th of July.
