Thankfully we see very little for tornades here in central Canada.

    Do stay safe there tonight.

I don't know, i just see a little sprinkling outside and some thunder and lightning. My gf and i were watching news hearing about golf ball size hail and horizontal rain and winds 100+MPH . They spotted a tornado 5 miles from us but so far nothing in my area.

    Hope it misses you, Trust!

That reminds me of my experience with a tornado.

A few years ago we got half of our shingles and underlying insulation blown off in a tornado.

I was a few miles away at the time, and all that happened there was hard rain. But when I got home I had to walk into the subdivision because trees were downed all over the road! And my mother was hiding in the corner of the house like they say to, because a few minutes before she had heard the shingles ripping off the roof!

When the sun came up the next day we found parts of the shingles & insulation over a block away. A big huge tree had also come down and we were fortunate it didn't end up through the roof!

There were no casualties from that tornado, but there was damage to the neighborhood where it had come down the street. No houses blew away and cars didn't start flying but there were *parts* of houses in unlikely places. They said later that it probably didn't completely touch down (hence the lack of that totally bombed-like effect you see on TV) but it was down enough to make a lasting impression on anyone living in the area!

Again, hope it misses you and all you get is the rainstorm.

Jeeez, thats a lot of people killed. I know the wind scares me probably more than anything since I've been in 3 really bad wind damaging storms.

One storm was when I was camping. 3 of us were in a tent that was blown about 50 yards until we were pinned up against the trees in the woods. Another was watching a big tree in my front yard fall right towards me in the house. That one did just a little damage to the house but totaled the car that only had one payment left on it

Hopefully all is OK with you Trust!

Our house was directly in the path last night- and it petered out about three miles down the road. We could hear it- and see pieces- we were on the list to get hit just after 8:00. Luckily, it stopped right before us- so lots of debris- but no funnel over the Hutson house. It did come very close to the office and we had a couple who did not make it into work today because of the roads (one had a dead cow in her driveway blocking the car). Only one person whose house is currently unaccounted for- but we know he's safe- so a pretty good overall turnout for this office even though many in our area were not as lucky.

Everything fine in my immediate area, just some rain, thunder and lightning. One nearby city got hit hard 12 dead so far. Was a little worried since our backyard after 100 feet of grass is all woods and we have trees everywhere. Still have thunderstorm and tornado warnings throughout state but its pretty calm here.

    Be safe... keep calm.

I know how it's like -- used to live in MS for a few years, and I can still remember that siren.

Think i might be signing off soon. Power just went off twice. One more time, and going to take the rest of the day off. Never seen it this bad, like neverending waves of thunderstorm and tornado warnings. Just checking the forecast and seems this will be going on thru the week. These weather people look worn out, can hear the fax machines in the background and them ripping it off announcing one warning after another.

So Trust, are you here today? Give us a kind word, let us know you're okay!

The only experience I ever had with a tornado was when I was still in junior high school, in my hometown, where tornados are very unlikely (in Pennsylvania.)

It only touched down for a moment, but it ruined one family's home. The home was right next to one of the covered bridges in town. If you're not familiar with PA history, we have the most authentic wooden covered bridges in the nation, and losing one (especially this one, as it's still in use) would have been devastating.

Luckily, the family was not home and was not hurt, and the bridge was untouched. But it was scary indeed, and that was only one small storm. I can't imagine warning after warning.

    Hopefully, all passed through okay.

yeah, i'm fine, the city i live in got hail and there was a tornado spotted but all i saw was some wind, rain, thunder and lightning, little flooding here and there. Seems all the bad stuff went either above or below where i live.
