This is the new 'moo mobile all bought and paid for with my affiliate earnings.

Just in case you're wondering what the heck it is, it's a Smart Roadster Coupé Brabus (it's a long name I know). It's got a peculiar 698cc turbocharged engine tucked in the back, tiptronic *and* paddle gear selection, electrically retractable roof, heated leather seats, cruise control, traction control, trip computer, aircon, CD player and chuffing big alloy wheels.

It only develops 101bhp from that little engine, but the car is so light it flies along. It's actually made from plastic panels bolted on to a hardened safety cage, a bit like a racing car.

My first really extravagent spend with my affiliate commissions.. perhaps it'll serve as a motivator for people

    VERY NICE

It does prove that it can be done.

There is a member here at ABW that bought a home in Marin, CA [where prices are NOT cheap] with his affiliate earnings.

I think you might find the steering wheel's on the wrong side Nova

Mrs Moo had a careful potter around the car park where I took the photos though

Moo, That is a cool ride, congrats! Is there any chance that will be coming over to the USA?

I bought an H2 Hummer a few months ago, however, not thru affiliate earnings tho, I own a wireless and ISP franchise.

I wish you the best with your car,

I don't think they're due in the US for a while, although you can get the tiny two seater ForTwo cars in Canada.

Very cool, Moo. I didn't know smart cars looked that good. 101 hp is too low for a sporty car, but I wouldn't know without driving.

101bhp does seem a little on the low side, but the car weighs 832kg so the power to weight ratio is good. Once the turbo kicks in, it really starts to shift. Unfortunately, I have to drive it carefully for 900 miles to run it in..

    That's an awesome car!

I think something like that would sell like hotcakes here. "Plastic panels bolted to a cage, like a race car" would have the bureaucrats screaming ranting and raving about how unsafe it is though.

Yeah, it sounds unsafe but the cage is a tridion safety cell and it's almost indestructable. The idea is that the entire outside of the car can crumple away, but the inner cell will remain intact, like an F1 car.

In Europe they have a small four-seater hatchback and the tiny two seater "tall and short" Smart with the same safety system.

    Super sweet!

101 BHP out of 700 cc's is amazing actually. Mercedes got it right this time.

I have a 2 liter Alpha Spider (bought with affiliate sales €'s too), and I can beat the Smart Roadster off the line, and can accelerate from 100kph to 150kph faster, but from about 30kph to 80kph the Smart Roadster can pull away from me cuz I guess that's the turbo's sweet spot.

I love my Alpha, but the Roadster would be a tough choice if I had to choose today.
