We all know datafeeds can be provided from befree,linkshare,cj,performics..

However, some of the merchants have datafeeds available directly without going through the major networks. Does anyone have a list of these?

The one's I know about are
    gigagolf
    mondera

Also, Is there a list of datafeeds available from independent merchants?

Sorry Andy, totally forget your feed there!

hmmmm...looks like the gigagolf affiliate program is administered through LinkShare. No mention of a private datafeed. Do you have to email them to get a looksee?

Also one of my best performing programs is an affiliate program that doesn't 'officially' offer a datafeed. They were completely suprised when I asked for one (as a matter of fact I had to put together a sample of what I was looking for using some individual product listings) but they were able to put together something for me...kaching!!! If you see a program that looks like it might perform well for you contact the programs AM...it just may pay off!

I used to be the affiliate manager for GigaGolf, but was laid off last month. [insert appropriate smilie here]

Before then, I had created a datafeed file for GigaGolf, you can grab it at:

    http://www.gigagolf.com/affiliates/d...d/gigagolf.txt

Of course, it hasn't been updated since I left and I really don't expect to see it updated either. Same goes for the dynamic links I created as well.

However, their products typically stay the same throughout the year, so it should be able to last through most of this year with whats in there. Just don't use the weekly specials, since those will change.

Other than that, if anyone has a job available...

Sorry to hear about that Mark. Great time to cut the sales staff, right as golf season gets going........
Sounds like the kinda people I run to during my work here all the time.

    Irvs Luggage Warehouse

Our programmer just finished programming what I think is a slick and versatile feed. BUT I don't know anything about datafeeds, except that affiliates want them.

Soooooo I am looking for a couple of beta testers to evaluate what we have, see how it works and see if we need to add any functionality before I release it to all the affiliates.

Anyone care to give it a try? If so PM me and I'll set you up.

Thanks Joseph. Didn't realize I wasn't using my Irvs signature with the link in it.

    www.irvs.com

I don't plan to charge for the feed. It's a service to our affiliates. Here is a description of our feed from the programmer.

When the CJ affiliate logs in, they get a list of options, including:

    - Enter your CJ affiliate ID.
    - Choose a file delimiter (comma, pipe, semicolon, etc)
    - Would you like the fields enclosed in "quotes"
    - What file extension would you like (".txt",".csv", ".data")
    - How would you like the lines delimited ("carriage return","line feed","carriage return and line feed")
    - Would you like the file sent to you via email attachment, or download through the browser?

The datafile is then created, and the users preferences are saved. Next time they log in, the form options will be prepopulated with their choices from the last time they used the system.

I don't really have a use right now for a luggage DF, so I'm not offering to beta this - but there is an issue already in your plan.

No-one should have to log in anywhere to create/download a DF. I know there are some affiliates who download/process/create/upload DF sites but I frankly can't imagine how any of them get a ROI. They'll eventually stop and you'll have lots of out-of-date sites.

DFs should be machine-accessible so the whole transfer/update cycle is automatic. By all means have an interface to set options etc, but from then on the file should be regularly updated and available on an ftp server to be downloaded server to server. The Mondera system works like this as an example.

    Are you Crazy?

    Irvs Data Feed Update

Thank you to all that tested and all that have PM'd me and are waiting for the feed. Due to popular demand and with great feedback provided by our beta testers we have just added the following: Thumbnail images as well as large images, long descriptions, more customization and an even better interface.

The only thing I am waiting on now is verification from the programmer that CJ has tested the feed to ensure that everything tracks properly. I won't release the feed to anyone else until am sure tracking works properly. I will let you all know as soon as testing is complete and make the feed availabe to everyone that wants it.

I just wanted to ask one thing.

I see you have eBates as an affiliate. Is IRVs aware how some super affiliates (although talking to AMs I believe not always high earning affiliates) have used unethical internet practices to steal commissions from hard-working smaller affiliates?

Being in compliance for some of these affiliates is just a challenge to find ways to avoid detection. Recent activities by some, indicate that thievery is again taking place and not just from affiliates, but from merchants directly.

How can a merchant who values their sales force partner with crooks?

Mondera feed, custom build and create as many as you like, and free of course

    http://affiliates.mondera.com/

You must have a LinkShare account and you must create a data feed account, doesn't use your linkshare login, though many have tried ...gotta add some text about that.

    Cheers

Andy I appreciate and share your concern about eBates. As soon as I became the AM and found out they were an affiliate, I wanted to get rid of them. I was told by "management" who referred to several articles that they seem to have cleaned up their act. I hope you know my anti parasite stance based on other posts and the fact that I am an affiliate also. I have been watching them closely and researching and will gladly can them boot with the slightest provocation.

The truth is they aren't even selling enough to give me any concerns at this point. they are not even in our top 10. In April they only made 2 SMALL SALES and earned a whoppping $24 in commission for the entire month. So I don't think they could be stealing anyones commission.

What justification do I have with management
(I am just on contract not an employee) for getting rid of a publisher for stealing commissions when they are just like 30 or more of our other SMALL affiliates who only make 1 or 2 sales a month. I will continue to watch them and research and remove them if I see anything out of the ordinary.

    Linda,

I sent you an email prior to your notification and now I see no more takers will be accepted. Does this apply to people who requested access prior to your notice or going forward?

I understand your position, but I also understood that the datafeed was "beta" and expected there may be issues.... This didn't stop me from requesting access and it won't again .

I do know you stance. I just wondered whether IRVs were aware of it.

Lets hope eBates continue to make so little money.
