I have heard that many would include spyware or adware in their pre-installed OEM software bundles and that's the reason they can sell at a low price.

Some will do it by accident and some will do it on purpo$e.

I don't like to use any pre-installed software on any of my computers, I like to format my new HD and be aware of what gets installed there.

    Cool
LOL...sure they do. Heck even the Tigerdirect clones cam with spyware/adware and a shopping portal installed. The name of the BHO game is infestation routines. What easier way to get the crapware installed then to pay a OEM fee or bundle your application with some give-away program in the consumers system.

It never fails to amaze me how people find new ways everyday to earn "Bad Bucks".

with the advent of Microsoft's adware detector beta, maybe the Big Thing for '05 will be the public's catching on (albeit slowly) to what is being done to them. Could you imagine how our sales would take off if much of the problem disappeared this year?

Hmmm.. I'd never though about this issue with pre-built PCs. I'm in the market for about 300-400 of the critters, and you can betcha that I'm now going to check all the evaluation models out carefully.
