    Angry 180 Advertising
So I open my Clickz News email for today and what do I see for the top level sponsorship ad?

    $100 of FREE advertising at
    http://nl.internet.com/ct.html?rtr=on&s=1,1cnj,1,2ep5,bdf,1dnh,lsre

Bring up to 6,500 new visitors to your site for FREE with

this special offer of $100 of free search advertising

from MetricsDirect. Been using Overture(TM) or Google(TM) to

market online? You've been missing a big opportunity.

With 20 million users, MetricsDirect delivers customers

at the very moment they're looking for your product. Go to
    http://nl.internet.com/ct.html?rtr=on&s=1,1cnj,1,34i8,gtty,1dnh,lsre

    for $100 of FREE advertising.

No big surprise to see them advertising through Clickz considering...but still. Click on that link in the ad. The redirect takes you to metricsdirectoffer.com. While MetricsDirect (and I would imagine many still don't connect that name with 180Solutions or Zango) is all over that page, there is nothing that links back to the MetricsDirect web site (except the only 2 tiny links for offer details and privacy policy). If you go up a level to metricsdirectoffer.com (which is what I usually do is such situations), I get a 404 page.

$100 free of search advertising. Hrmmpphhhh! Why hide what it's all really about??? And to even insinuate that their services are anything like Google by having Google as the first choice in their sign up for for types of search marketing currently being used.

Wonder how many suckers fall for this promotion........

Neat that their first impression trying smoke-n-mirrors deflection tricks at ABW, continues into their more mature ruses. Crying for merchnats and sleezy affiliates to whack their competition on their knees (LOL. More likely their popup plagued customers witll be pissed.

People have no idea what they are getting into when they sign up with
    Metrics Direct:

    http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum85/841.htm

Now after I go to this link above, I see they removed the second post which
I had made connecting Metrics Direct to 180solutions and Zango, the
post is gone, my post further down is still there though.

Easy answer -> ClickZ is not affiliate friendly (remember they killed the affiliate coulmn that was done by Jim krukal and they are as Mike says ... adwhores ... There are more ads for Claria and the rest of that ilk than content - JMHO!)

    waybar,

Feel free to repost it here. Also that link is for paid members on WMW so many don't necessarily see it, a recap would be appropriate (- Not that I don't support WMW and their paid option!)

I agree 100% hence my comment about no surprises seeing the ad there. My point being what waybar stated...people don't know what they are getting into and I'm sure the offer of $100 free search advertising is enticing to many.
