This info came in the affiliate newsletter today (25th). It is impressive, but also probably a reflection on the program itself - even with the recent payment increases, I am earning less from them than ever.

I'm doing great with them. Probably due to Google not allowing PPC direct to merchant anymore. Ebay accounted for a good chunk of that.

    What i posted above and:

    New Affiliate Commissions: $20.00-$45.00

You can now earn more with the eBay Affiliate Program: As of February 1st, eBay affiliates will earn $20.00 - $45.00 for each new confirmed eBay user (ACRU) - signifying our most aggressive commission structure yet and a huge increase in our affiliates' earnings potential.

In addition to raising commission rates, we have lowered the performance tiers - making this a great opportunity to grow your affiliate business, increase eBay promotions, try new business models, and drive greater profits:

Consider the following example: An affiliate drives 3,500 ACRUs during a single month. On the new structure, this affiliate earns 54% more than on the current structure - an additional $49,000 in this example!

Remember, that this only represents the commissions from new users - affiliates are also compensated for Bid and Buy-it-Now transactions!

Complete details will be posted on http://affiliates.ebay.com after February 1, 2004.

I'm surprised there are still people who haven't signed up. Bet they're getting scarce.

You would think that, i thought that. I figured who hasn't heard of ebay. Maybe they've heard of them and just have never signed up. I've posted this a few times before but the way i use them, they do great for me. Find something people are looking for where the only place they can get it is at ebay. Then if they want it, they have no choice but to sign up or bid. The trick is finding that "something" I'm sure there are plenty of other ways, but that one has always worked for me. And at $20, i'm now trying to find more "something".

My reversal rate with them has held steady with them for almost 3 years now, about 20%, when they were at $4, $5, $6, $10, $12, and probably now at $20. And just now checking my EPC with them, it's grown pretty much the same percentage as their payouts have.

    More Poop than Pop?

Pop the real question is: Why was not our clicks worth that before? Is this what customer aquisition really should cost? If so maybe the other merchants better anti up their bet with us little guys.

I heard that Ebay was raising their rates for listings, is this to pay affiliates more as well as pad the corporate purse?

With affiliates using 180/Zango on almost every keyword out there, it's a wonder you can get much conversion at all...

It's all very strange to me... of course this means more poop than pop. Let's keep that one eye aimed at this program and everyone report back.

It all depends if conversion goes down. It seems that every time Ebay has raised commissions, my conversion rate has gone down to the point that the end result is about the same.

It just makes the dry months that much worse.

I sure got a whole lot more $5 signups than I did $10 or $12.

That being said.. Its still one of my best performers...

I am seeing a lot more unactivated registrations now than before. I'd estimate that 40% of my registrations don't convert. That ignores the ones that are poached by parasites, plus the reversals. I'm definitely making less now than I did with the $5 registrations with more traffic. I won't turn away $20 per registration, but the program isn't what it used to be.

I dont like the way they reverse bid transactions. Mine, almost all bid transactions (even only a single transaction in a month) were reversed with the same reasons: duplicate order. Duplicate order with whom? I use dynamic SID on my text links.

No wonder the scumbags raised the auction fees by so much.

I average anywhere from $5 to $10 in dimes a day. Yesterday I had (2) signups and was thinking Why couldn't they have waited till Feb.. oh well, knocking on wood neither get reversed.

I see a few dimes reversals here and there but not many (3 or 4 a week). My understanding is, if someone bids on an item from my site, then gets outbid, then comes back to my site and bids on the same item, I get credit and then reversed.. !@@#$@!# sounds goofy but I was thinking/hoping most of the reversals I see are from that scenerio..

Murphy SAYS: now that it's at $20.00 I many not see any for a while...
