    Need opinions
I am trying to help a friend setup an affiliate program on his site. At this time...he is wanting to do the program in-house. We have talked about SAS and a few others.....

I wanted to know what others felt about in-house programs. we have been looking at a program called iDEVDEIRECT

I am not really sure what all is required wanted by affiliates as I primarily run Private Label sites.

    THanks in advance.

I'd start with SaS (or "others"), and see how it goes... Try also approaching Chris of AMWSO.com for insights/advise! Good luck with everything!

    cdkaminsky,

idevdirect although a cute program and inexpensive, has no fraud protector at all ... this means that if you had a rogue affiliate who placed a real order they could once a day or week refresh that page and get commission for it and you'd never know and you'd be paying them for nothing.

GroundBreak is a great piece of software if you feel you must stay in house, if not join Shareasale a trusted third party, that really is trusted!

I'll tell you what I tell all merchants ... your aff program software should be as comprehensive as your cart software, because it's just as damaging if an affiliate sale is not tracked as your cart not working - think about it!
    Continued Success,

    Haiko

We have run GroundBreak @ BDS going on 2 years now and it works just fine.

We are now in the process of ADDING SAS for those who want consolidated payment.

    Adam Ward,

So if someone doesnt run GroundBreak, you would DEFINITELY recommend it as an in-house software?

    Recommend
While I would recommend groundbreak, I think your program would be better on SAS where you prepay an amount into your account for SAS to pay commissions.

    Thank you
I apreciate the replies and help. I think I will go with SAS it seems to be the best option. They have been very helpful in with all the questions and after showing all your opinions I know the site owner will see the importance.

THank you again for taking the time to help!

Tracking wise it's 100% spot on. I have never seen an issue when it's installed correctly, a payment module and a nicer admin GUI on drill downs would really make it fantastic, but as is it already blows all other stand alones like MYAP a-freaking-away.
