Question Datafeed Format (osCommerse vs. SaS)
We use osCommerce as a platform for our online store. However, osCommerce CVS database format differs quite drasticly from the datafeed format required by SaS. As a result, to upload our CVS file to SaS we have to first compile it by hand (which makes it merely impossible to add everything that we have, as we have close to 3000 items featured in our store). Has anyone expeirenced such a problem? How do you deal with it? Maybe someone has scripts that can covert the osCommerce format to the format required by SaS? I would highly appreciate any help on this! Thanks in advance!

Seems like Bian could have one of his programming experts come up with a conversion script as oscommerce is popular with smaller merchants.

Evgenii, if you can email me a copy of your cvs export and an example of what SAS expects, I can prob have something for you fairly quick.

    Some recources for osCommerce feeds:
    Yahoo feed
    Froogle feed
    Easy Populate script
    Easypopulate Data File Tools
    More easypopulate tools (adding fields)
    Easypop data checker

    mozhet eto i pomozhet...
    good luck
    c4actble,

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply! Po-moemu, Vash otvet pomozhet mne BOL'SHE vsego! The SaS datafeed has to look like this:

    "SKU","Name","URL to product","Price","Retail Price","URL to image","Description"

The Froogle datafeed is very close to it (same data, only arranged differently, and the "SKU" missing from it):

    "Product URL","Name","Description","Price","URL to image","Product category"

I'll experiment with the Froogle Data Feeder osCommerce plug-in and see if it'll work. If it gives me everything in XLS file with each category in a separate column, we could do the rest by hand.

However, if you can work a script out to make my life easier, ya budu BOLEE chem priznatelen!!!

    Many thanks in advance.

    Evgenii (Geno)

PS: Where (geographically) are you and what is your name?!

I could use it - when our new site is finished, making a datafeed from it is going to be hell!
