OK all you tech heads I have one merchant that I am converting off of banners (oh my!) and their datafeed is only available in xml. How can I get that into excel so I can use it the way I know how?

I just skimmed this a few days ago. It converts xml into txt, pdf and a bunch of other formats... I didn't see excel but you might be able to go from xml - txt -excel??

    Heres the link:

I downloaded the trial and we'll see. Sending it to excel in the same format as the xml file (fields down and not across) would not help me.

I'll be poking around at Source Forge to see what they have also.

The point is that I don't want to use the xml data on a site all it's own, but integrate it with my other merchants and products. So I can't use the data "as is".

Downloaded a couple of the converters from the site above and they didn't even open the xml file. So those aren't going to work!

Bummer...I've been thinking about doing the same type of thing when I have some real time but I did find this, its freeware haven't tried it though:
    http://www.pcworlddownload.com/syste...es/xml2csv.htm

converts xml to csv. Do a search for 'xml2csv.'
There where some listings that added excel--I was reading about people doing it themselves with xslt--it didn't look to complicated at first glance we all know how that can go!

    Good Luck.

Openoffice keeps own files in XML format and does support export to Excel format.

Not being familiar with XML I don't know if all XML type files are created equally...but as Openoffice is free you might want to give it a try.
