    Dropping merchants with pending application
I applied to a certain merchant about three months ago and I was put on the pending list. I wrote to the organization rep probably a month and a half ago to inquire about my approval status.

Two days ago I finally hear from the rep, who said that she ok'd my application, and that she "thinks" she approved my application, but if not I should reapply and she'd approve me right away.

My problem is that my application still says that it is pending and there is no way (that I know of) that I can cancel my application and reapply on my own. I told this to the rep but have not heard a response back...I'm wondering how often she monitors CJ activity. I like this organization and so I'd like to see it work. Does anyone know how to remedy the problem?

I have had two applications that were still pending for 18 months. I finally contacted CJ support and they were able to quickly drop them. Give them a try. They seem to be a bit behind (two two days for me to get an answer this week), but they are good folks and do a great job.

    Same problem
We have the same problem with pending (we have 44 right now) and we wrote to CJ and was told that we had to contact the merchants direct. We contacted several who indicate that they would look into with no response. At least with Linkshare, we can go in and drop the request.

If a merchant can't approve you within 10 days, forget it.

I'd say that any merchant who can't approve your application promptly doesn't deserver your business. It suggests that the affiliate channel isn't that important to them. We check and respond to all applications first thing every morning - we want to get affiliates started while they are still interested.

I have a couple of merchants pending since September 2003. It makes you think how often do they look at applications when they accept them manually.

I agree with you Rob, if they can't process an application within a week at the most, it's not worth working with them.

I think I'll contact support and have them drop my pending applications.

CJ is no better themselves than those types of merchants. It took over 3 months and 2 or 3 unanswered emails for them to finally look at and reject my application for their referral program.

There definitely needs to be a way to retract applications.

I agree mobilebadboy, I too had to wait a similar time before my CJ Referral application was turned down.
