I need some help with uploading excel files onto the server - I've done it using this command before using phpadmin

LOAD DATA INFILE '/datafeed.txt' INTO TABLE `tablename` FIELDS TERMINATED BY '\t' ENCLOSED BY '' ESCAPED BY '\\' LINES TERMINATED BY '\r\n'

but at times I encounter this error :

    MySQL said:

#1148 - The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version

I've googled it and tried all sorts of different ways but I still get no joy.

    Can anyone offer a suggestion?

You need to contact your host to see if "LOAD DATA INFILE" has been disabled. It's pretty common that not all hosts allow this by default.

    Mr Speed,

just read your other post - the host won't enable it (security issues). They told me to use csv_importer 2.0 (free wizard) and I tried to download it but it's not working for me - if download it and it works for you, let me know...as it is I'm stuck at the moment - no way of uploading the feed unless I ask...

If you find another script somewhere let me know. I'll be hunting down one too.
