    Hi Everyone,

Just getting into datafeeds and Web Merge, some are free and some only available via CJ.com so how much do CJ charge for access...is it per feed and if not..how many feeds can you have access to ?

I have seen a UK merchant on CJ.com that also has a free feed but they dont use CJ URL's so not very helpful so that's why I was wondering is it worth paying to access their feed via CJ?

And as I said...it'll all be created using Web Merge so I'm looking for text based feeds that Excel can open.

    the cost is $250.

I only use feeds that are free... the way I see it is... if the merchant wants maximun exposure on my site they will provide me a free fed.

I'm no will to spend my money to get feeds..

Seems like a feed would be a tax deduction just like buying software. If you are going to make money with it paying a one time fee is not a bad deal. It may actually be an advantage because not everyone else has it.

    What Joe said.

I have to add, there are just bunches of free feeds out there (Performics, LS, BF, and yes - some CJ), more than most could probably could handle, in fact. Some of the feeds are a little over used, but you can pick the ones that aren't by doing a little research.

I made my $250 back in the first month. It is an investment, but it also depends on your current site traffic, etc to determine if it is worth it for you.

To being with CJ should tell you if they have a feed or not...so you dont have to probe and ask everytime.

Plus theres the chance for $250 their feed is pure sh$%

It's a relatively small price - and they just debit your account so it doesn't come directly out of pocket. I think its worth it because all the feeds are in one single zip file - you don't have to scrounge all over the place for them - and it's already encoded with your account number so all you need to do is upload it to your database.

    Thanks very much everyone.

I'll carry on for a while with my free feeds I think, have got my head around Excel so adding my PID and cleaning up the cr*p spelling is not too much of a problem on the free feeds.

    Thanks again everyone,
