    So,

How many of you have experienced growing pains when you go from a static site to a Data Feed based site??

I'm suspended for my script taking up too much cpu on a shared server ..

Have others gone through this or am I just special

Or several. The biggest growing pain I ran across was expanding beyond one server. I got to the point where my scripts, the database, and the web pages couldn't all be handled by one server. I ended up creating a dedicated database server for the database and scripts, then two web servers that run off the database. I can now expand to probably ten web servers using that one database server before I'll need to expand to multiple database servers.

That's pretty much where I'm at right now. My server works so hard updating my sites that the whole thing runs like trash. Is it possible to have one server that runs the scripts which generate flat files to be stored and served on another server?

I'm thinking about a dedicated but it's the usual hesitation because of the added money.. Besides, it's the holidays and i dread thinking about moving right now ..
Although, how much money can I make with the site down.

    Write better scripts.

    There are many ways.
    Use Indexes.
Set up cronjobs etc to process 20,000 products etc each run instead of doing 400,000 all at once.
    It goes on.
