I've earned many thousands of dollars with my feed sites. Enough to avoid employment. I would never give up feed sites.

Recently i setup up a datafeed site ,but the traffic is too low,
It's the low traffic that's the cause of your lack of sales. You need to work on your SEO and getting links in.

And, BE PATIENT, even if you do everything right, it takes a while to get many listings in the search engines! It also takes a while to learn how to do good SEO, so unless you're lucky, you'll probably need to tweak your sites a few times before they'll rank well.

Customize, cusotmize, customize. It takes a whole lot more than a datafeed to make a site successful.

    Gandalph,

I don't think meta tags really matter anymore. I went all year last year without meta tags and still managed to pull in a great deal of traffic and sales. I think they're completely ignored by search engines now.

As said already, but very important. Tweak, test, customize, check stats ....Repeat

You will find the right combo soon enough. Some sites do well right out of the gates (with links from inbond links already established) other take time.

Geez, one of my larger sites finally pleased the google bot and now has 1000's of links incoming to that site but it took 2 years to get that one right.

Never give up and test test test.

    Good luck,

I agree... get some links at LinkAdage or other link auction or broker sites...
make sure you can vary your inbound link texts for different keywords and pages... you can save big $$$ by targeting 10-20 different words in a pack for the price that other's sell only 1 link !

    cheers,j

I have done quite a bit of SEO on my sites and I don't think Google really takes notice of the Metatags, but I would still add them as quite a few, especially some of the smaller ones still uses them.

Infact, I think Yahoo still takes notice of them for their ranking procedure.
