February 25th, 2005, 06:45 PM #1Appraising .in domains?
I picked up a lot of Indiana city names when the new .in domains opened up. Any ideas on how to value something like speedway.in , greenwood.in , etc? On the one hand, I think, hey, if it's not a .com, it's not worth much. But in this case, as the city is in indiana, a .in ending makes it brandable, easy to remember. Doggone if someone didn't beat me to www.indianapolis.in , though.
And yeah, .in is supposed to stand for India, duh, but I'm thinking branding-wise, this works...
Any ideas on how to price some of these? All of the cities will have a population of 50K-150K, with the exception of a couple smaller, resort locations.......
