How bout a forum geared towards the running an affiliate program aspect and promoting it and building it up, etc. and what not to do and what to do and how to go about it and who's the best 3rd party to use, etc.?

Just an idea, don't shout at me

I agree, it would be a good idea for those of us who haven't dealt with that side of marketing yet.

Also, what about a forum dedicated to community building and making moeny off content sites for those members who have 'content' sites and with to try to make them profitable.

WSE,

I think it is a great idea!

I'll change the "A Best Web Affiliate Support" forum to a Being a Merchant.

Should it be a closed forum? So only Merchants can access it? ... There are many things merchants won't say in "public" and some "secrets" that should stay secret.

Community Building ... hmmm ain't easy, nor is making money off content sites. We will launch a CPM network so that can help the content sites ...and I think the community building can be addressed in the café (for now).

I would like it if the Merchant/Affiliate Program was an open one. I have been very interested in this topic and am considering starting one. The input from others would be greatly appreciated.

Haiko,
I have also been looking at becoming a merchant and would appreciate it if any Merchant/Affiliate Program forum was an open one.
However, I accept that..

So how about two forums, one where things can be kept private and another where they may be able to share some general knowledge.

Core & Guffy,

I'll make it public ... till we see a need for a private one we can PM and email.

Great ideas guys.

Here are my suggestions on what should be discussed on a public merchant forum and a private one.

Public

- Email management
- Program improvements
- Payout suggestions
- General affiliate support

Private

- Quality assurance tactics
- Fraud detection
- Fraudulent sites

In my opinion, the private topics should be kept private because these discussions can be used against the merchant for harm more than benefit.

Any other suggestions?

Okay two forums but how are you going to determine who's in and who's not?
