    Talking Hold the front page..
Hold the front page.. of Google News!

For the first time one of my sites has featured on the front page of Google News in the US and UK.. *twice*. Heck, it's not likely to make me a lot of money, but the traffic graph is pretty cool.

I've seen Phillyburbs on there a few times too.

The cool thing about Google News is that you can get listed in about 15 minutes or less

    Congrats!

*even though I ended up spending 20 minutes trying to see which site was mentioned twice...*

It stayed on for about 5 hours or so and then new stories cycled in. It's still showing on the UK version.

Never had it happen quite like that before.. not the same as a Slashdotting, but hopefully I'll get some nice inbound links

    Moo:

We see really nice steady numbers from news.google.com on a daily basis. Congrats on "getting in the loop"!

Not sure how Moo & Karl are doing it, but one of the ways to submit your news to G or Y is to do a press release on services like Pre Leap or PRWeb. These news services are spidered by bots and so will be your news/press release.

I have not done it but it works something like this. You can get more info here.

You can suggest your site as a news source by emailing source-suggestions-at-google.com - although the review process seems to take as long as an ODP listing!

It seems to be a useful thing to have though if you have a purely informational site that you updated often in your portfolio.
