March 2nd, 2005, 08:39 AM #1spamming my name,, Question
I have a brand name cosmetic,
which is also my domain name,
I now find that my competitors are using my
brand name, in their search terms, and site description, to lure people to there sites,
that have nothing to do with my product whatsoever.
just to sell my competitors brand.
they are also advertising,
FREE SAMPLE OF ****** SKIN CARE PRODUCTS. [using my brand name]
that's just one company.
another is advertising the best information on ****** SKIN CARE PRODUCTS
when you get there, they are flogging something completely different.
is this allowed ????
as its starting to pi*so me off.

sounds like a candidate for the "need your legal questions" sticky above!
bidding: since they are not getting any benefit from you there's nothing to cut them off from.
ad copy in site: you can try the "cease/desist" warnings, but you may only be able to file a DCMA compaint with the major SEs. they do listen.
adwords in particular: a complaint is worth trying. DCMA, again.
