    Travel Affiliate Links to Blog
I just added a travel affiliate's link to my blog... Anyone have any experience with blogs? I get lots of traffic -- wondering about conversions in this environment. Thanks for any information you are able to provide.

I just experimented with this same thing. I had a site which made decent commissions, but I thought it would be much easier to handle and update as a blog. So for 2 weeks, I converted my site to a blog site, and added some redirects from my old pages to appropriate pages in my blog (so searches would be directed to relevant content.)

The result: nothing, nada, $0. For two weeks. A click here and there, but nowhere near what I was getting. After 2 weeks, I changed it right back (as simple as replacing my index page actually), and clicks and sales returned to normal.

Possible Errors: Not enough time for search engines to catch up (although the redirects would have taken care of that), too much info on each page with all the menus I had going, and not enough pretty pictures (too much text).

I am defintely interested in trying this again, but will have to rethink the best way to do it. Of course it always depends on your site's content as well. You will definitely do much better than I did.

    Good luck,
    Scott

    Thanks for the feedback...

    Andy --
I am trying to understand what I need to do to make the large affiliate program I am using work... Thanks for the offer. Not sure what is deemed a lot of traffic but my numbers suggest I am getting a lot.
