Question how to make affiliates promoting our offer ?
    Hi,
we started our affiliates program 3 months ago, we have now 55 affiliates that joined our program on a network and around 100 on another one.

As of now, there is only few of them that are really promoting us, most fo them did not add any links. The traffic coming from the affiliates is not raising so much.

What should we do to encourage them starting to promote us ?

What ve done so far :

    • Welcome message
    • After few days : a reminder message with explanation on how to implement a link
    • Newsletter
    • Incentive bonus structure
Any idea, advice or comment would be greatly appreciate.

    Regards,

    all of the above...

affiliates are a fickle bunch.... many affiliates signup for everything they see... and never do anything to better their situation... (add links)

this is why most programs need 1000's of affiliates to make it worth while to have a program...

there are a few things missing from your list... tools, content, and anything that helps get those pages built... after all a few links isn't going to get you the results you need/want from your program...

lets face it if an affiliate, only has a few text links and banners to choose from they'll throw up a banner and wait for the commissions top row in...

we all now this is the path to failure...

what an affiliate needs to do is add your links to a page / website that has visitors that are looking for what you offer... vitamins, supplements, healthcare products etc.. are all good matches...

an online mall or auto parts site is not...

If you only offer text links and banners the affilaite needs to create content... this slows down the process... cuz some affiliates dont know how or are afraid to do this...

you need to offer articles, snippets of content, page building tools to help affiliates build pages about your program... after all the SEs index pages and links...

You have well defined medical coverage category pages so make them into linked "hot button" landing pages to focus the FIRST CLAIM recovery of costs motivator....LOL. Face the ebiz plan facts! Those paying 40.00/month plan on recovering most of that cost over the long term shoving a bird up the butts of the insurers. We just need the greese to make this a painless process covered by one of your broad coverage plans.

You could make up a name for your affiliate manager (if you don't want to use a real name) and sign every message/email with a personal name. Affiliates respond better (and more) to a "real person" than they do to an unknown "somebody at the company".

You could also allow your affiliates to make their own custom text links. It's always a pain (because it's time consuming) to have to write to an affiliate manager to get approval of text links.

Putting a link to the signup page for your affiliate program in your signature here would help you get more affiliates. Sometimes I have time for a quick look at a new program but don't have the time to track down the details on an unknown merchant. Please, make it easy for us.

You could also do a really hot short-term bonus aimed at getting affiliates to put up their links.

For instance, offer a $5 bonus to anyone who gets their links up and generates their first sale in the next month, plus a chance to win $50. For everyone who generates their first sale, give them a $5 bonus and put them in the drawing. To keep your existing affiliates from feeling left out, you should also have a separate drawing for $50 that includes all affiliates who generate a sale. Total monthly cost: $100 plus $5 for each affiliate who generates their first sale. 20 new, generating affiliates would cost you $200. 100 new, generating affiliates would cost you $600. I think you could easily justify something like this based on the future earnings potential of those affiliates.

Hi Ray, thank you for the advice.
all messages and emails are signed with my real name.
In my next newsletter I will tell all my affiliates that they are allowed to create their own text link and that tis is their responsability to implement the tracking code correctly.
I ve added a link to my affiliate info and signup page.

Thats a good idea, we already have an incentive Bonus for 10 sales ($20 bonus), 50 (150$ bonus), 100 (400$ bonus), and 200 ($1000 bonus) sales with no time limitation. I think this one is good for active Affiliates.
But I will use your idea for new affiliates and give them an additional $5 on their first sale, and a draw for all affiliates that write sales during each month, the winner of the draw will get $50.
