Exclamation New York Times - Tanked
Does anyone promote the New York Times? Their EPC has tanked the past 5-6 days or so, down to near squat, although traffic sent to them remains consistent. I know for a fact something is wrong with tracking, or somewhere other than on our end. Just look at their 7-day EPC chart and there should be no doubts. Anyone know any news?

    EPC Chart
I'll make it easier on the lazy ones

Here is their 7-day EPC chart on CJ. If nothing is wrong, I'd be insanely surprised.

    I would say that either:

    1) TRACKING IS AFFECTED!

or, there's a very remote chance of:

    2) Somebody's bombing them with dud clicks

Thanks for chiming in. Our sales with them have dropped liked a rock the past 6 days or so. The fact that the EPC drops a little more each day, to me, hardens the evidence that tracking is affected...

I thought most folks thought they were dead.

I had the same thing with a CJ merchant earlier in the month. Most of their CJ links were actually hitting 404s, but I had a few cookie sales rolling in during that time -- so even though their EPC dropped through the floor, it looked like it may have just been a seasonal thing. When I finally found out, I sent an urgent email to the AM - who it turned out knew exactly about the problem, but didn't bother to inform us affiliates. If they weren't one of my best earners I'd be strongly considering ending my relationship with them.

It's certainly put me into a regimented daily check of all my aff links.

Oh and relatively on-topic - makes me glad that NY:T rejected me for being a non-US affiliate :P

Actually the NYT has a lot more stuff for sale than the papers. They have quite a massive feed full of products.

Say, since their tracking is kaput, that means there's an opening for another newspaper. When are you going to open the PhillyBurbs Store & Affiliate Program?

    LOL

Actually, such a limited edition, localized Beanie would probably sell for big bux on the secondary market!

    Follow-up:

I suppose this is just a coincidence also. But a few hours after I posted this thread, sales and EPC began returning to normal levels. Sales have been normal going forward and EPC has been steadily rising. Don't tell me something wasn't screwy! Thanks though to however fixed it!
