    Adding a signature???
How to add signature to my posts?

Moderators: - Sigs (as well as a few other board features) are not acessible for use on ABW until you have reached an undisclosed number of posts. This policy is to protect the integrity of the board.

Just jump into the discussions here and don't worry about the sig. You'll be able to access that feature soon.

I have read the stickies... does not have anything to do with me... and I am sure that you are aware that I have not violated in rules... Is it that you would like for me to discontinue my participation? Please use a direct method. I am trying to find out why I am having problems with affiliates. Not trying to cause discourse. I do not like rules on the fly... it makes me think you have something to hide.

I suggest you leave it non-personal.... good manners, maybe you could point out which rule disabled my signature here... since I have read the stickies and I have had the same signature for about a year

    Hello WiredPages,

I'll jump in with my observation and comment.

    You stated:
I am trying to find out why I am having problems with affiliates.
Is it possible that your signature link was being used to draw traffic to your blog and/or for affiliate recruitment from the blog? I don't really know, I never noted your signature link before removal by Haiko.

I'm trying to follow your comment of "I am trying to find out why I am having problems with affiliates". I don't see any affiliates and/or ABW members giving you a "problem". What problems?

You even quoted a very specific subject directly related to the ability to post a signature link with your posts.
Moderators: - Sigs (as well as a few other board features) are not acessible for use on ABW until you have reached an undisclosed number of posts. This policy is to protect the integrity of the board.

It clearly states "Sigs (as well as a few other board features) are not acessible for use on ABW until you have reached an undisclosed number of posts."

I see you have 44 posts to date in almost a years time. I don't feel as though 44 posts would entitle you to full privileges when there are others with more posts that still do not have these privileges that you feel that you are entitled to.

If you feel that you must "discontinue your participation" with this board because you do not have the full privileges that you feel that you are entitled to, then I am sorry.

You make it appear that if your not allowed to post a link to your blog .... that this board serves you no useful benefit and/or that you think this board is only an avenue to draw traffic from.

This is sort of like saying, "if you don't play by my rules, I'm going to pick up my marbles and leave".

As Haiko said, read the stickies! Try to see the big picture rather than looking at this with a self narrowed vision of "what benefits I can/will gain from posting my comments & blog link here".

I don't know what to say.... thank you very much for explaining why my signature was good when I only had 1 post but no longer good now.. i understand NOW that you have changed the rules... this change was recent...

I never compete with others over my signature... It is mine alone. You would like this to be about whether I care if someone has more posts than I and whether the new rules accomodate more posts... I don't want to abuse my membership. When I post something here, I am not doing it for an audience, I am asking for help. A picture or link is worth a thousand words and can more aptly explain the problem. I always assume that other affiliates are not my customers... that is why it is pointless to over post here. This is not a good board for an audience. To many frustrated affiliates....

Looks like I found some words...

No, this is not about who has more posts than you. This is about the new rules implemented in order to keep ABW on topic and spam prevention.

I am sorry that you still fail to see the big picture involved in Haiko's decision.

    Q,

This is my best guess from your posts about what has probably happened. If you have been a member for over a year, your first posts were most likely made when ABW was running on infopop software. Infopop didn't allow for the handling of access to various board features. In Jan, ABW was moved over onto VB software which does allow for more control over certain features. This feature provided by VB was one of the many reasons Haiko made the change in the software. The access to certain board features based on an undisclosed posting number is new and went into effect after the move onto the VB platform in Jan.

So yes, there are new rules that have gone into effect since you joined a year ago. These are NOT being made up on the fly however. Haiko posted the updated TOS when the new board was launched. Explanations to members are also being made to assist them in understanding the new rules and functionality of the boards. We are posting these changes as appropriate and responding in individual threads to 'get the word out.'

Now if folks would quit posting that undisclosed number, Haiko wouldn't have to keep changing that number. It's not Haiko making stuff up on the fly and trying to hide anything. It's Haiko attempting to preserve the integrity and quality of the board as it continues to grow and running up against the fact that folks are having a hard time realizing what undisclosed means.

I'm sorry if you feel it is worthless to post here if you don't have a sig at this time. And posting of links are allowed in threads as long as they are on topic, do not contain an affiliate link, are not the manual adding of a sig when you do not have access to that feature yet and the link is not keyword stuffed. Link spamming of the board isn't tolerated in any fashion whatsoever however.
