    Question Starting new site question
I'm interested in starting my second site. M present site is very large. I'm looking to produce some smaller niche oriented sites.

I notice a lot of sites that are product driven with little other content. How do they ago about affiliate approval in the beginning? If you take away the product, there is nothing really there. Do you just set the "skin" of the site up first and ask for approval then?

    Mel

    Pick the product/merchant
    Buy a targeted domain
Build content as deep as you can

If I pick up one product/service, should I be an expert on it?

If I do not know much about the product, how can I build a website deeply?

Use your established site when you apply for merchant approval.

If a merchant declines you on the basis of "non-complimentary theme" (this does NOT happen often; an established site is usually enough to cut the mustard), just email them and explain that you plan on developing a new site but cannot proceed until their links are available to you.

If I start to build a website on one special product or service, where can I find information and raw materials for my site?

    Thanks! Be nice to Newbie!

    1) Keyword research. Pick a handful of good keywords.
    2) Search on those keywords.
    3) Read those existing sites about your topic/keywords.
    4) Poof, you're an expert! (or at least know enough to write some content)

    Good luck,
    Ross

No problem. When you hit it big, I'll take my cut in small, unmarked, nonsequential bills
