    Shoe Sales
I am an affiliate for shoes and my sales have really dropped since mid Februaury. I have not made any dramatic changes to my site or ad campaigns. Are there any other shoe affiliates that are experiencing similar sales declines? Any input appreciated.

    Thanks

You're not alone. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are - no changes to my ad campaigns or to my site. Comparing the same time period month over month (March vs. Feb.), I see that while my clickthroughs have actually increased by 10%, my sales are down over 20%...

    Maybe people quit wearing shoes?

Maybe people quit wearing shoes? I really haven't noticed too many people going barefooted, but maybe I need to look closer. Thanks for the replies. At least I am not alone. My clicks are as strong as ever also. But sales are down dramatically. I want to blame someone!! I'll admit that test sales have tracked. I just don't get it. I was getting 1 sale in approx 80 clicks in PPC campaigns and now I am getting 1 in 250-300......... Sigh!!

I checked and it looks like everyone is still wearing shoes. I think the problem is they are all wearing new shoes so it may take awhile for them to wear out and buy some more.

    Maybe they're buying flip flops.

I only see this phenomena with shoe merchants on CJ. (where's that pirate smiley?)

The others are steady as always.

Right now most of the country is still cold, some under snow. For the past 3 months all the new incoming inventory has been sandals and Spring footwear.
Anyone who needs boots has already got them.
As soon as we get some warm weather across the majority of the country, watch sales start ta take off again as people start buying sandals. Then in August-September, you will see the same slow down until it starts getting cold.
This is how the footwear business works. There are two strong seasons and a lag or a few months in between.
This pattern exists in brick and mortar shoe stores but is more prevalent on the web. A month or two after the warm weather hits and all of the stores at the mall are sold out of sandals will be the peak for online sandal sales.
My suggestion is not to count on one source for shoes because once that source sells out of hot items, you are dead in the water.

My shoe sales are down too, even though page views are just about the highest they have been for past 12 months.

I have noticed that Google has shafted me again which could be a factor.

Same here. I've put all my love and caring in my shoesite, and it grew and gave me lots of satisfactions - just like a puppy, a plant or something - but in these past months ZABADAM! no shoe sales, no money, I began to hate my shoesite
