Can it be, that the Notification Feature for new posts in a Topic does not work anymore?

I enabled Notification (My Space) for several Topics, but none show up, but they have new posts (checked manually).

Has anybody else the same problem?

It's sporatic, at best. I find I don't get a notificaton more often than I do.

I think I found the reason.

I added a lot of Notifications for Topics over the time.

I had no new Messages in the My Space Section (Topics) at all (in the last few weeks).

I just removed several old Notifications for Topics where I thought that nobody will write there anymore and voila, the My Space Section showed new Posts.

There must be a limitation of Topics in the Notification Settings (scanning for new posts in the first xx in the Notification list). That's the only explanation I have.

I think the Forum Application did not intend, that topics are open all the time. If old topics would be closed and therefor notifications removed, no problem, but when will be a topic closed at ABW? Almost never.

Bad is, that you can not see (and sort) the last post of a Topic in your Notification Setting. That would help to clean it up.

Another Solution would be, to close all topics without any posts in the last 30 days automatically.

Haiko, could you verify that please?
If I am right, please do something against it.
I showed 2 possible options (I prefer the second one).

    Thanks..

    HAIKO?

It's not a problem which solves itself by doing nothing.

I am still looking into it... this month we have sent out 9502 message notifications, that is down from an average of about 14,300 at this time of the month.
