Haiko... Thought it might be a cool idea to open up a separate area for mainly coupon website owners. It seems there are two types of affiliates (if there are more you can correct me) There are Coupon site affiliates and non-coupon site affiliates. Since I have seen it posted on quite a few occasions that some of the affiliates believe that Coupon affiliates are the scum of the earth, it might be a good idea to open an area for coupon site owners. I have wanted to exchange ideas and ask questions about different sites and strategies etc. but am fearful (not really) of people expressing their hate for coupon pushing scum.

I looked for a suggestion forum to post this but found none.

    What do ya think?

From one scum to another, I agree.

Some people seem to think running a coupon site is easy! I am not sure how we got lumped into the parasite group and get tired of being treated like the scum of the earth.

And it would have to have one rule - Mike would not be allowed to post his anti-coupon messages in there!

Jeez all the most interesting folks and posts seem to come from the "incent" side of affiliate marketing. Most of the others are like me ...dull and boring...left wondering what happened to our conversion ratios. I think I've been trolled and hooked!

I have no problems with coupon sites that are running "clean" sites, but there are too many that list unauthorized, or private offers, which p.o.'s the merchant, and makes us all look bad...

Although I don't approve of segmenting the memberbase into site classifications, I do agree that the issues faced by and programming/maintenance of coupon/rebate/discount sites are different than plain vanilla affiliate sites.

Cool, a place to quarantine those who like to have to do extra w*rk on their sites!

But adding w*rk to the making of money is like adding gravy to ice cream.

There may be a lot of calories and nutrition (profit) to it, but still...

It's great when people start to relax after they made some money.

Who relaxes?! I just need more time to do other things with my site. This coupon stuff takes up so much time I don't get around to site developement.
I have so many ideas in my head and no time to work on them.
And after the hospital bill I had this year with no insurance, I need all the money I can get!

I think he thinks *I'm* relaxing.

But he can go ahead and think that a dislike for w*rk means the same thing as "relaxing"...

I hope those that call coupon sites "scum" will think twice.

I know I'm not alone in that 1/2 my site is based on coupons (because people want them), but another 1/2 of the site focuses purely on fashion trends.

It's a dangerous thing to start grouping everyone's sites into one stand-alone category, especially one with such an offensive description.

    With my best,

    Liz
