    This week sucks
Is it just me or does this week really suck? This week has been slow, no traffic, no sales, no activity at all.

Is it because it is the week after Easter and a lot of folks still taking time-off? or is everybody still in the spring-break blues?

Yep the day before easter I saw traffic take a big plunge. But as far as sales go this whole month has sucked.

Well, I had my first affiliate sale this month and followed it by selling another 2 big items last week, but this week has been a total loss. There hasn't been any improvement in the number of banner clicks...

I think it's just you. This week has been solid and if tomorrow (Thursday) is any good, we'll have our best month since December, AM-wise.

Most weeks have Sucked - Big Time - for affiliates since Garble decided to show off and get rid of affiliates ( white hat ones anyway). Of course the Black Hats are still there in their seach results.

Just shows you that it doesn't pay to be one of the good Guys or Gals sometimes.

Is it Time to change Hats?

    Cheers.

Last week really sucked for me. This week has bounced back a little. Still managed to grow my sales 25% over February so far, despite a few slow weeks.

The weeks that suck make me just focus on building up other projects and diversifying my sites a little without the "distraction" of watching the sales roll in.

    What!!!

    You had some sales.

Good for you. Maybe it won't be too long before everyone starts picking up.

Some of my pages are starting to show up again in Garble but the majority of my sales are from MSN.

Sales are fairly miserable for me. Nothing new there.

On the bright side, I have several casino players losing a lot of money.

Most of guys seem to be doing pretty decent... good for you all. May be the affiliates here can join our program and boost our sales as well...

It's been a steady, but pretty slow month for me. Easter and Spring Break this month didn't do anything for online sales.

Hopefully, things will pick up a little once all the Spring Break's are over this week.

It may just be the product that you are selling, some products are seasonal. I dunno, but I wish you all the best of luck in the next few weeks

Oasis, I am on the same boat this month, so it's not only you with the slow traffic and no sales, I guess it's our time to be on the low side for now, but don't worry about it, by December we'll see a big difference from what we have now.

Think Positive and don't worry about this slow month, just remember that you just started the new program not to long ago and new things take time to work out.

Thanks for the kind words Sal. I had a great start today, two of my most expensive kid recliners were sold in the morning.

As of now, I am trying to keep my affiliates happy - datafeed updates bi-weekly, tracking sales by phone, adding big-ticket items that would make us both more money and sending them monthly newsletters (the first one was sent this month). I currently have 40 affiliates, of which only 5-6 are active. I was just wondering if I needed to do anything more for the rest to participate as well...

    Verbalkent,
Our products are kind of seasonal. We sell kid recliners and we recently added indoor playhouses and cubby storage products. Now that it is getting warmer, I guess parents are not too bothered to buy their kids the indoor stuff we sell... typically, March and April are our slowest months too. I wish I could break the pattern...

Sales are being made by the merchant's worthy of having an online sales outlet. Two of my clients are up 300+% on March sales over last years totals. One in the skateboards/snowboards verticle and the other in Mens' Suspenders. One selling to the masses and the other to a niche'. In 7 years of never missing a payout request to affiliates, No BHO's, no e-mail spam, no Norton link blockage and a proven average 1/20 conversion ratio my only task is to add in a new line of beautiful Jacquard dual clip suspenders and 2 new Silk styles. Getting any real affiliates, who know I'd require they actually send physical click traffic from their endless supply of page creatives, is the big hurdle. Only see a a few clicks per day from the 13 affiliates who have a chance to build a shopper friendly promo page once and forget it. The audacity of me to expect 1 hours work for a continuous source of income from a merchant, where it's impossible to not report referral sales...

This may be a bit off the thread,i got a small check from Walmart,(Linkshare) even though I have n't bother much with their ads, since I feel they have too many affiliates, and ads on all the meida. must have been from one of my older sites. It seems the market is up and down, since I hav direct deposit in some programs, I believe their were some sent to the bank.
I had a message from Herb, on my Earthlink address, I prefer to get them on the forum, I only posted it for info to another member, who helped me in the post.I am not a new member, I have been a part of the forum since 2002, but when we moved from the horrors of Scranton ,pa. back home to NJ, and a lot of time was used to make my wife as comfortable and happy, I didn't spend much time online. The older members will remember me.I had to upgrade to windows XP,change to Earthlink dsl, since MSN was
not satisfactory,to mayy popups, and spamming, and a better virus program, I have 5 sites, and doing well, I reserved the 5th site for the smaller merchants that most shoppers never heard of, and get better sales from them, using Google ad sense.35 search programs, and the weekly top 500 keyword list, I have the content, meta tags, and plenty of repeat traffic. After spending 47 years as a retail consultant,I have a pretty good idea what sells ,to who, when, why, Etc just needed to learn more about doing the same online.Google finds not only the sites, but products.I thank you for your comments, when I first became a member, I had plenty of help on the forum, which has a new format, since I last visited, now I am a newbie again, instead of full member, and can't PM anyone, until I post 50 messages, I spend more time on the sites, as you know, merchants are frequently switching, or dropping out of one program, and going to another, like Office Max did, so, I don't use the merchants names, or email, and it takes time to upgrade each site.

Pretty much since DEC, 2004 it's been slow I was doing great until the End of November and then I lost about 45,000 unique visitors a month, starting in DEC and it's been getting worse. Google and yahoo really is the one to blame. about 50% of my traffic came from Google and yahoo, even though most of my pages are well optimized static html pages. Now it's off to thinking of how I'm going to move forward.

    James:

I haven't sent you anything direct that I know of, or at least probably not this year. You might want to look at the date on the email.

Here's wishing you success this year.
