    Question ae - displaying Top Sellers
    I have the ae script tag, using ssi, integrated into a website.

    I have a variable that loads books, etc. based on the keywords in the heading of the page.

    This normally works great. But I have been noticing that the amazon Top Sellers are displaying rather than the key word searches.

    What causes this?

    Is this an ae/amazon issue or perhaps something else?

    Thanks.

    What are the AE URL parameters?

    If the search parameters are missing or are invalid, then AE uses the default search of Top Sellers or the search that you define in the search.default configuration variable.

    I've been trying to get this to work using the "list" parameter, but with no success:
    <quote>
    search.default "type=search&mode=dvd&keyword=meditation&list&pagesize=3"</quote>

    What do you mean by "no success"? When I try those paramters (/cgi-bin/ae.pl?type=search&mode=dvd&keyword=meditation&list&pagesize=3) on my website, I see a list of three meditation DVD's.

    BTW, amazon.com has a browse node specifically for meditation DVD's (browse node 537512 : DVD > Genres > Special Interests > Health > Meditation) that you may want to use instead (since keyword searches can sometimes show unrelated items; browse node searches are far more exact snice amazon.com's categorized the items for you). For that, use: type=best&mode=537512&list&pagesize=3

    I'm using this in the ae.ini file for search.default.

    Here is the script in the web page:

    <quote><!-- begin featured reading -->
    <!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/ae/ae.pl?ssi&type=search&mode=books&keyword=#%name2%#&list&pagesize=2" -->
    <br>
    <DIV ALIGN="left">
    <!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/ae/ae.pl?ssi&type=search&mode=books&keyword=#%name2%#&pagesize=10&format=listul&first=2" -->
    </DIV>
    <!-- end featured reading -->
    </quote>

    Here is a link to a page with the result:

    http://www.richardeward.com/director...tudies-1.shtml

    No results are found because the variable "#%name2%#" = The Foundation for Shamanic Studies and there are no such titles at amazon.

    I'll try it with the browse node that you recommend.

    Thanks for your help.

    To make "No results found. Click here for amazon.com" disappear (or change the text/link to something else), see my other posting.

    search.default is used if no parameters are specified or if the parameters are invalid. It is not used when "no results found".
