This is the information about Greasemonkey, Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension which lets you to add bits of DHTML ("user scripts") to any webpage to change it's behavior. In much the same way that user CSS lets you take control of a webpage's style, user scripts let you easily control any aspect of a webpage's design or interaction. It's available here
Based on the article above seems like some believe it too be considered adware and or diverts commissions and traffic. Based on my findings and testing of greasemonkey I find it too not be adware and does not divert commissions.
Grease Monkey can convert URLS (that are not links) example (www.google.com in text only format) can convert too a link google.com So the user will have to make the changes and it only changes text and incomplete urls(links) into complete links. As you can see in the video clip below that the subject line of accessrespiratorysupply.com in the cj forum in firefox has been converted to a link but in IE it is not a link just a url in text format.
