Ampalian Direct Jewellery - Life Time Commissions - Auto Deposit
I think I've done everything possible to make this a great site. Please correct me if I'm wrong. My living depends on it.

The prices are carefully checked often to represent the best possible value. The site is secure and registered with ISIS. I have an affiliate scheme on two networks, my personal favourite being shareasale. I offer life time commissions @ 10%, product feed and auto deposit.

Is there any more that I can do? Any suggestions for improvement are very, very welcome. Thank you for your help.

    Regards

Not in the UK. That is the correct spelling here.

I must say I expected more constructive feedback than this. Is my site that perfect?

It's really pretty good. The real test is
    in sales and conversions.

One idea to improve is to categorise your datafeed a little better. All the different products just come in the one category jewelry. You could make diiferent categories for example gold rings, silver rings, diamond rings, gold necklaces, silver necklaces, gold bracelets, silver bracelets etc or something similar.

I do like your site it is very good.

Your site looks nice and easy to get around. The prices seem ok - I am in the US but I think they are reasonable. Most of the pictures are good and clear. (not fuzzy like some jewelry sites I have seen) And thankfully your site doesn't look like every other jewelry site out there.

One thing - I noticed that some of the jewelry has a green background. I know your site has a green theme but I really think the jewelry on green doesn't look good. The gold takes on that greenish hue. (and that isn't good) The diamonds just dont sparkle on green.

I am thinking either a white or perhaps the palest pink would look so much better.

    Good Luck!

Thank you for the feedback and your comments. I agree, the green backgrounds were a bad idea and all of those pictures have been reshot. On the next major update in a weeks time the vast majority of them will be replaced with new images and another 300 products will be added.

Any remaining green images will then be replaced over the following week.

Well, I've signed up. Have two jewelry merchants at SAS not converting, time to try something else.

I agree with Gordon about the datafeeds. Merchants should use the custom fields
to categorize their products with the datafeeds.

I think it would be a good idea to start paying your affiliates.

Hi there, there have been technical issues that I've now got fully sorted out with Brian so it will now correct. I've advised him of all sales amounts that weren't correctly tracked and the system has been checked and tested to make sure that tracking is now robust.

I'm aware that your living depends on affiliate income and mine depends on happy affiliates so rest assured I do treat these issues as top priority.

Now I'll be focusing on new product for the coming crazy season. I trust you'll enjoy great sales from now until Christmas and beyond.

    Kind regards,

    Malcolm

Malcolm, are you strictly targeting the UK market?

You've got a couple of lines that have a broader selection than most, but I'm wondering if the prices not being in US Dollars (or both or a convertor) might not put off US buyers who don't have a clue what the equivalent prices would be.

I'm not sure what you mean. All prices have a US dollar approximate equivalent and every page has a currency convertor. We regularly sell to the US and I have recently shipped goods to China, Japan and Finland too.

OK, I see ... I looked at this page

    http://www.ampalian.com/store/jewell...welry-c-6.html

The USD is on the detail pages - I hadn't seen that. Nice stuff, great selection.

"All prices have a US dollar approximate equivalent "

Commissions are still "approximately" $0.00 (U.S.D.)

Thanks for jumping in Brian. Again, apologies for the glitch.

Thanks to you all for the positive comments so far. We are now approaching the silly season for sales. The last quarter of the year in the jewellery business can easily generate more sales revenue than the other 3 quarters put together so we're getting prepared.

We have built a new, fully equipped, despatch facility to ensure that we maintain our high standards of customer service.

We have spent the summer months talking to new suppliers about fantastic products. We are now ready to double the current product range of 2500 items to 5000 in time for the rush.

We have secured some ranges on a web exclusive basis.

Everything is in place so don't miss out. Check out what our customers are saying about Ampalian here

Here's to a great season for us all.

    Malcom,

I just signed up with your program, I see it is set on auto approve which is fine (although not the way i do things, manual approval is better), but then I received your intro newsletter,

    "~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This letter by itself is not an indication that you have been approved, or not-approved for the program. Please check your account online for approval status, or contact the merchant directly.

We have received your application and we will review it very quickly. Please note that we accept affiliates that have synergy with our brand. "

So am I approved or not? Also it says your temp offline...Not a good way to start things.

    Richard and all...

Ampalian was never offline actually - as we were aware of the situation as it was caused by updating some transactions that were reported as 0 dollar sales... I set the program so that it was operating as normal even though they did need to make a deposit....
    Thanks,
