I JUST GOT THIS EMAIL FROM A FRIEND BACK IN THE UK..????
anyone know anything about this ???
If you receive a phone call and your Mobile phone displays (ACE) on the screen don't answer the call. END THE CALL IMMEDIATELY. If you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a virus. This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your phone and your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect with the telephone Network. You will have to buy a new phone. This information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia. There are over 3 million mobile phones being infected by this virus all around the world. You can also find this information on the CNN web site.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS PIECE OF INFORMATION TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES
WHO HAVE MOBILE PHONES

Well I went to the CNN website and didn't find anything about it. When I searched all news organizations, I found articles about Trojan Horse programs being bundled in with downloadable games. Like this article:

I Don't use cell phones - "I DRIVE WITH BOTH HANDS"
I forwarded this to my friends that do!

Why did you forward it to your friends? As Istolze posted, the email is a hoax that has been around since 1999.
Having a cell phone doesn't necessarily mean talking while you're driving (unless you use a hands-free accessory). They are a wonderful convenience. My husband and I each have a phone instead of a home phone. That way, people who want to talk to him call him, and those that want to talk to me call me. It's also great for talking to friends/family all over the country (no long distance), and while shopping. When my husband and I go to Lowe's together and get separated, I can find him fairly quickly by just calling his phone. In this day and age, it is also wise to have for safety when driving alone. Then there's traveling ... I can visit my sister in Texas and talk to my husband in Florida any time for free.

All my friends who use cells also have PC's
They might have gotten that HOAX in an e-mail...
I sent them the links verifying that it was actually a hoax...
One of the letters was from 2002... and Neil said
"I JUST GOT THIS EMAIL FROM A FRIEND" so it must be making it's rounds again..
as far as cell phones go - yes they are a convenience, and great for safety purposes as well.. it's just amazing to me that 20 years ago we all got along just fine with the one attached to the wall at home. Now every one is walking around talking on their phones constantly, checking their messages every ten minutes. The first thing they usually do when they get in the car is make a call... We used to just get in the car to drive.. lol not call friends on the cell phones and watch dvds on the headrests..
I mean it's nice -- "it's really cool in fact" BUT - I think it just makes society that much more "air headed" that's all..
