Amazon did not track...

Amazon doesn't allow you, your friends, your coworkers or anyone known to you to purchase through your own affiliate links because if you KNOW a purchase was made through your links and it doesn't track...you can make it known publicly.
Amazon's tracking is whimsical at best. For big purchases...choose your own favorite adjective.

I've never had a problem with them tracking. The only issue I've had is that there's a big reporting lag (a few days).

Tracking is VERY sporadic with amazon... they sometimes track one item of a multiple part order and don't even bother tracking others... I'm with Rhea on this
