Question to Brian and AMs - Simultaneous Indie Programs?
    Brian,
Are merchants allowed to run their independent programs besides partnering with SAS? I know that we are not allowed to sign-up with other networks, but I am interested in knowing about running an independent program which doesn't interfere with SAS network/affiliates. Please advise.

    AMs,
I was on a different thread on ABW and some affiliates think that merchants need to provide them with options on being associated directly. Is anybody on SAS already doing this? It might be a long while even before we start doing something like this but I am curious to know more about this option.

Also, is anybody using MYAP? Any other tracking software? Any thoughts?

    Oasis,

There aren't any restrictions - you are free to open up accounts with other networks or to open your own "indy" program.

wow, I did not expect that! I thought for sure we would not be allowed to join other networks... not that I much want to work with any other netowrks except possibly DarkBlue... anyone use them?

my boss asked me if we could join all the other networks, and I basicly laughed at him. I wouldn't want to even if we are 'allowed' to.

I don't typically recommend the "multi-network" environment because it can cause possible problems with duplicate payments. However, it has never been a policy to "dis-allow" the practice.

We at BDS had minor programming done to stop the possibility of dup payments.

PM me for additional info that will come from a 3rd party.

    Oasis,

I think on that prior thread you refer to from Trust, he said to you
You're on SAS, so you're in good shape.
    and
There are some other networks where i wish the merchants had options
    I agree.

You are on SAS so I would not worry about creating an Indie program for a while, since everything you need SAS has.

Affiliates will find you, just keep posting on ABW positively about everyhing you now offer through SAS.

    Oasis;

I have used MyApp and like them. The main dif. is oyu need to find your own affiliates , ( the kolimbo program that they use is not that great) and you need to pay your affiliates as MyApp does not.

Outside of that if you are a really good AM and can go out and find quailty affiliates I really like MyApp. easy to use and set up and the reporting is very good also. PLUS Jeff will work with you.

I am still learning the ropes of Affiliate marketing and I am happy with Shareasale, but it is nice to know that there is an option to run an independent program. If a lot of my affiliates start demanding such an option, I will definately make a strong case with my partners to incorporate our own independent program.

It is nice to know that SAS also allows the use of other networks, not that I would like to. I have heard more negative things about other networks than positives.

I did some research on MYAP and have read some positive things and will keep them in mind.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

If your thinking MAYP and SAS ... SAS offers much more than MYAP.

Erase it [MYAP] from your mind --- I thought you were going in-house (ie groundbreak) to pass the network fees to affs as added comms.
