You know you're no spring chicken when...
    Memories, memories!

I found these song lyrics on an old yellowed 3x5 card today.

You know you're no spring chicken when...you know all the words that follow this:

"Listen children to a story that was written long ago
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley far below
On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath the stone
And the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own..."

Wow! Guess I'm not as old as I thought.... No idea what the lyrics are for!! I remember dancing to 'Celebrate' from Kool and the Gang though....

Unfortunately, I'm old enough to know the song. The song was taken from the move "B----- J---". How many are old enought to name the movie, as well as the song, and no, they don't have the same name.

LOL. Haven't thought about that one for a while! Maybe I'm dating myself...

"Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend,
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowing,
    come the judgement day,
    On the bloody morning after...
    One Tin Soldier rides away."

I remember the movie. Don't remember the name (Billie Joe?) or the name of the song. Both are quite horrible.

    Well, to close this out:

The song was from the movie "The Legend of Billy Jack."

The title is "One Tin Soldier" and it was played/sung by the group "Coven."

It was played on music radio stations a *lot*, I think in the late 70s or early 80s. The first time I heard it I knew I'd remember it forever. I think I have it recorded onto either a cassette or reel-to-reel tape somewhere.
