    Problem getting to 1st base...
    Hello,

I'm on Win 2000 Pro, I downloaded ae, I installed the Perl, I put the simple sample in a page and the script sample on another page and each one gave a "Page cannot be found" error when I ran the scripts.

I'm trying this out on my desktop development machine where I have a DotNetNuke site running and I want to test and do development here before I send it up to the web, where I have the DotNetNuke site I want to use for real with the Amazon.com affiliate store.

Do I need to put in the path for the Perl? Is that what it's not hitting?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi Don,

Normally when PERL is installed on a Windows machine Path is updated. You can check that by bringing up a command prompt (run>cmd) (DOS windown) and type
    path
you may see something like PATH=C:\Perl\bin\
if not you will need to define the path to PERL and the bin directory.

If your path is in place try navigating to ae.pl directly from the command (run>cmd) prompt and type "perl ae.pl" with out the quotes of course and see if it finds and executes it. If it does then you have a permissions issue when running from a browser that you will need to resolve.
    if you try something like
    perl ae.pl and get
"'perl' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file"
There is something not right with your PERL installation

    All the best,

    Mike
