    Linkshare Really Broken Now
Upon trying to get to the Log In screen, I get this message:

    Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

    Anyone else seeing this?

I saw it briefly yesterday afternoon, but had no problem logging-in this morning. I am still greeted with the validation message though.

    Ron,

I had no problem loggin in as well.

But I still can't verify what's in my consolidated check. Almost wishing for the individual checks.

Wow, I got in too. AND!!!! No nasty verification error screen.

However, none of the changes I made to the registration screens yesterday are there, I'm still listed with my business name and PO box so I really don't have to much belief that things are really fixed.

I sent a message to LS on Tuesday. Received this answer this morning.

    "05-18-2005 17:36:02

    Dear Sue

    Thank you for your email!

The verification process did not start until May 5th. Prior to that you
went through the new registration, without the verification process
being launched. Everyone who reregistered prior to the 5th, was checked
via a batch done by LinkShare. Those whose information was not validated
by the 3rd party verification company received an error logging in as
    of last week.

Since Synergy Analytics is in Beta, its not functional in all browsers.

LinkShare is working to resolve the verification issue. We expect this
issue to be resolved the week of May 16th. At that time,
you should have no problems registering if you are using your correct
tax id, name and address. In the meantime, you
are able to access your account to run reports, create links, etc., by
clicking on the 'Back to Home page link that is available above the
Live Chat button. We appreciate your patience in this matter and apologize
    for this inconvenience

    Regards,

    Ebony L Dixon

I won't post my response back to her, but I did thank her for at least responding. That is a small step in soothing things over a bit. Still no answer as to who their "3rd party verification company" is or when uses of other browsers will be acceptable or any other solid answers. This is apparently just more of their "put off, song and dance routine".

I wish I could be impressed by this response. I also received a response signed by someone at LS, and also was somewhat content that they responded. Then I saw on here that others received the same exact email signed with the same exact person's name. Reeks of 'Don't bother me' auto-reply..... Wonder if these people even exist??

Istolze, I was NOT impressed and no way content. I was just "appreciative" that they bothered to respond at all. I replied by restating my questions and stated that I did not want any more of the "canned", evasive, put-off responses and also stated that unless there is a positive change by May 23, I will drop all LS merchants and move on (after five years of their ups and downs, this one is unforgivable).

Well, even appreciative is a far stretch at this point in my opinion. But good for you for giving them hell, so to speak. I wish I could say that I would leave LS, but I do my best business with them, so there I'll stay unless they really make this a habit. I've only been with them for not quite two years, and can't say I've had trouble with them before this. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Actually, this LS person provided more insight into what is going on in one paragraph than Mr. Medder has in three long postings about the subject.

What I am gathering from this is that even though we all thought we were verified, no one was until they sent everything over to the the credit check folks on May 5th. I'm also assuming that even though some folks were able to get in and change data in the verification/registration screens, nothing was verified until LS sent another batch over to the credit check folks. What I find frustrating about all this is the hours I spent guessing at what need to be changed and no way of knowing. Heck, even if I did hit upon the right solution once, I never would have known because a batch would not be going to the credit check folks but maybe once a week.

Oddly enough, I see no error screen today, BUT all the many changes I made last night are gone. Still shows Business name and PO box. Big question I want answered is when will the next batch be sent to credit check folks and if approved when will the check be sent. More importantly, if not approved, how will I now know and how many more weeks will it take for me to get paid, beyond the four weeks LS has already been holding my checks.

Just received this in response to this morning's question back to LS:

    "05-19-2005 11:53:18

    Dear Sue,

    Thank you for your email!

Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to give out the third party
information. I completely understand your frustration and do have some updated
information. I was informed some enhancements have been made which
will be put in place this weekend if not tonight. I suggest going through
the validation process this weekend. Based on the information given to
me this will fix the issues previously encountered by affiliates.

In regards to Synergy Analytics, I have no ETA on when it will work on
other platforms but it is being looked into.

    Regards,

    Ebony L Dixon
    Manager, Affiliate Support
    LinkShare Corporation"

Well, more promised updates / fixes. I think this is the same song we have been hearing for the past couple of weeks (seems like much longer). So, once again, we wait. At least this person is responding as much as LS is allowing. That "not at liberty to give out the third party information" is the biggest crock yet. If someone is saying that I do not exist, then I believe that I have the right to know who is providing that information.

Hey, at least you did not get a canned support response. Wow!

Mr. Messer did say yesterday that a fix would be in place tonight, but he did not say anything about waiting for the weekend to use it.

No fair! I still get the nasty verification screen when I log in, and when I try to verify I still get:

Your submission contained the errors listed below. Please update the form and re-submit:
Error, we were not able to verify your legal name and address with a third party verification service. Please check your legal name and address and try again.
I have a few choice words for their third party verification service.

    Hey Tracy,

What's no fair? I'm still not validated, can't use the new Synergy Analytics unless I dump FireFox and go back to good 'ole "dependable" IE, etc. And the song goes on.............................

    Hello,

There is a linkshare thread on webmasterworld that purports to identify the third party service.

How many times has google adsense has a problem in the last few months... 2 that I can recall and both were resolved in a matter of hours. Problems with linkshare seem to be daily and resolutions don't come quick enough. It's amazing they can run a business like this. Is it that hard to create a stable platform to run a business on? I think the developers at linkshare should be replace by people who know what their doing.
