Well will be one soon. ARRRGGGHHHHH! It's just wwwwaaaayyyyyyy to early in the year to be thinking about those. Last year was bad enough, hope this isn't indicative of the season to come.

There are still many, many people in this area (from here over into the panhandle) without homes due to Ivan. It's hard to believe hurricane season is already rolling around again.

Adrian should be of no concern, though, at least for now. It should head off towards Cuba if it even regains strength after it crosses over Central America.

It's just that it is way to early in the year to have to be thinking about them yet.

Did you have to remind me too. These local wheather people are already suggesting supplies and scaring us.

So, effective next week our "offices are closed" til November.

Does anyone know how the rebuilding of the Pensacola Florida or Destin area is coming along? We are planning a stopover there in July and from what I can tell many of the accomodations along the coast are still not back in business.

Ken, from what I've seen most of the beaches are back in order. They had to do alot of refurbishing, but I think it's as close to summer as normal as it's going to be, at least Pensacola Beach. I can assuredly say that for the Gulf Shores (AL) area because that's closer to home and I hear more about it.

Accommodations might be another story. Many, many, many buildings were damaged, but all these people have to be staying somewhere. There are several confirmed hotels, condos, vacation rentals, etc that are open as well as many restaurants, bars, stores. But the beaches have been packed most weekends.

You could always call the Pensacola Beach Visitors Information Center at 1-800-635-4803. They could give you a better indication of how things are.

As far as Destin, I couldn't say.

Currently, Adrian is predicted to pass right over the Caymans. Hopefully it'll stay at the predicted strength and not increase windspeeds.

I heard that experts are predicting an even more intense hurricane season this year. Hard to believe after last year.
