    Exclamation Affiliate URLs Question
Okay, I know we can obviously supply our urls for site reviews, but lately I've seen people listing more than one of their sites at the end of their posts (not necessarily in their signature). I thought this wasn't allowed...? I mean, there's the 'No Affiliate URLs' in big red letters everytime I post. Am I misunderstanding the rules? Sorry, I know this has probably been discussed before, but my search didn't come up with much other than Haiko's post on using URLs in signatures.

    Thanks for the help!

Using your own urls in sig files is allowed but using urls in an example of a site doing something wrong or asking questions about it is not allowed.. Too many site copiers around.

    Lisa,

That brig red notice about posting affiliate URL's is about posting someone else's URL.

You can put your own URL in your sig if you want once you have reached the min post number to have sig privileges. You can't post an affiliate link in your sig. And you can't keyword stuff your link in your sig. You can't manually add a sig with your URL if you don't have sig privilges.

You can post your URL if you wish in a post (again not keyword stuffed) if you are asking a legitimate question/etc (such as a site review). However posts where folks are posting their URL just to spam or get backlinks will be removed.

Hope that clears it up for you some.

    Hi --

I am a newbie. Yesterday I posted (and paid) at the section for merchants announcing themselves to prospective affiliates. I don't want to write anything here at this "Introduce Yourself" section that is not allowed. What, if anyting, can I write, in the way of introducing myself, along the lines of what I posted yesterday? [I may otherwise be quite boring - ha]

    Thanks,

    Fred

    Hello !
I'm also quite new. But the only thing that can't be posted is your URL. The one's that you see are paid for.

Let me know something about you. Where are you located, When did you start in your business,What kind of business do you have?? Things like that can be posted. Or, you can email me like you just did, & communicate with me.

    Best Wishes my Friend,
    Sweetgrame (Roz)

    Hi Fred,

I just visited your website and I like it.

I see that you went with SaS, do you have a data feed?

I like Hat's, so I may join your program.

You need to post how much commission you're paying, how long are the cookies, etc, ect.

That way you will get more affiliates around here interested in your program sooner.

    Good Luck.

    Sal.

    Sal --

Thanks for your good wishes. All of what you ask about is at SAS. Currently, the comish is 7% with a 45 day cookie. How is this perceived by the affiliate community? We want to do what we can to be attractive (but need to go slow so that we can figure our the right balance between attracting affiliates and still making money.) As you know, the costs of running a business continues to go up. How about the Two Teir approach that SAS promotes. Do affiliates like that?

I'm "all ears" regarding what it takes to be the kind of merchat that affiliates will work hard for.

Thanks for responding and visiting VillageHatShop.com.

    Hello,

My name is Andre Carrington and I am the webmaster of a small site that produces self-written reviews of various family orientated items. I joined this forum in order to get better ideas about how to improve both the site and the service that we (my wife Bonnie is involved too) provide.

I live in a small fishing village in Maine and, as a cancer patient have a lot of time on my hands (I'm not currently able to work a full time job). I go to University online to study Criminal Justice and eventually hope to be become a lawyer.

Thank you for letting me join your forum and I hope to learn many things here in the future.

    Yours Most Sincerely,

    André Carrington.

When it comes you will know.
We don't post the number because then people drop a whack of useless fluff posts so they can add a sig or pm.
Jump in, contribute, join the community and before you know it you'll be sig-ing and pm-ing with the rest.

No your not, because it is MLM and this board is about affiliate marketing, not the "next biggest thing to happen to the internet" and "downline" stuff.

As you look around you'll get a better feeling for what the sigs are.

I don't think begging for people to buy your products or join your affiliate schemes will work. Nice try though.

Just an idea though, if you need to sell more stuff why do you not optimize your search engine listings to generate more traffic and hence more sales?

LOL. In a thread that started about not adding manual sigs, the post above mine includes a manual sig.
