In surfing around I have noticed pop-ups triggered by the HTML where I'm surfing that display gif files of merchants such as 1800Flowers and Overstock. There is no manner to determine the source. Here is one...

My question is does anyone know definitively of a client side application that is delivering these offers without disclosure of their source? Alternatively, does anyone know how to determine which Linkshare partner uses this particular tracking?

Hope Linkshare, the champion of muzzling the parasites, come to our aid. I just checked 1-800-flowers and since Oct 1st on 549 clicks hasn'r produced ONE SALE on all the Christmas/Holiday flower & gifting arrangement product links.

I had 3 banners and 50+ individual product links for Thanksgiving and Christmas arrangements with pre-sell text for last minute shopping. I operate a Cybermall which caters to only shoppers not casual browsers. 1-800flowers individual product links are coming down until the boot out the over 10 parasites they feed my traffic too with "incent" offers.

It is amazing Obdon that the Flower arrangement links sitting right next to some expensive jewelry -Fur coats and watches had some pre-sell challenges for the cheapskate shoppers. I like that they returned to my pages and sometimes poped for a 1300.00 fur coat or 700 gold bracelet, rather than a stupid 40.00 flower arrangement. There are no flower merchants, that I know of, who aren't parasite supporters so they compete for popup screen space on landing pages.

Obviously my 500+ clicks to 800flowers were from those who had second thoughts on cheapskate gifts or just phoned in large orders. I think I'll just reserve them for flower arrangements to dead people since my shoppers only seem to bother with funeral weaths.
