    Cashing US cheques
    Hi,
I'm new to affiliate marketing, but i have managed to recieve my first cheque. Its in US dollars though...thats good but,

I went to cash it at which bank & they want to charge me $10 to convert to Aus dollars..

Does anyone know of any other methods/cheaper services to cash an overseas cheque?

    Cheers
    Biz

Biz, what about direct deposit? Does your affiliate network offer this as a method of payment?

    Hi Biz,

I've built a relationship with the bank manager of my local Westpac bank and whilst they will charge me a AUD$10 fee to process US$ cheques, they let me bundle 4 together and charge me AUD$10 for processing all 4 of them (even though they aren't from the same bank) - I had to switch from NAB because they threatened to charge me AUD$10 per cheque, per bank...which makes some of those smaller cheques almost not worth banking.

I haven't found any other way around it...but then again, other people may have.

I found that moving to the USA allows checks to be cashed for free. If you have auto deposit your check account is free from any service charges. I believe that moving is the most economical way to avoid check conversion charges........

Well it's tounge and cheek but look into the direct deposit from the Majors. If your doing lots of little indies, your going to have to pay.

    Hi biz,

I'll just quote what oscar said.

I've built a relationship with the bank manager of my local Westpac bank and whilst they will charge me a AUD$10 fee to process US$ cheques, they let me bundle 4 together and charge me AUD$10 for processing all 4 of them (even though they aren't from the same bank)
That's the same thing I've got going on with my bank (CommBank).
