Just tried finding every Parasite that has signed up to our CJ program and banned all of them.

I am also going to put something in our affiliate newsletter about Parasite software and this forum.

Thanks John, maybe Washinton State will get involved with Parasiteware the same way they try to stop spam to WA residents

Mark..how do I get credit for transferring website client's domains over to Dotster from Verisign/NetworkSolutions? Many have multiple domains but are not currently registering new ones.

    Mike,

You get the 17.5% revenue share on transfers from other registrars (current transfer price $8.95 which adds a year to the domain's expiration date).

Because these take time for the transfer to go through and because we don't charge the credit card until the transfer is completed we do not send these as sales to CJ immediately. We are rewriting our transfer system so that transfers get credited quicker but that is a month or two away.

The best way to get prompt credit for transfers is to email me the domain names when the transfers are completed so I can get you credited immediately.

    Regards,

P.S. If you transfer your own names the end result is that you get the extra year for $8.95 -17.5% = $7.38!

    Spreading the word:

The following is in our next affiliate newsletter to 10,000 affiliates:

    Stealing Commission?

Did you know there are software programs out there, downloaded by millions of internet users, that replace your Commission Junction tracking codes with their own?

Dotster has blocked the creators of these programs from earning commission from us but they are still overwriting the tracking codes of many other affiliate programs.

Check out http://www.parasiteware.com/, they can tell you about software to remove these programs from your own computer, and they can give you suggestions on informing the visitors to your web sites about these programs.

    Mark,

Great to see you doing this. Every ABW member may know about parasites, but I'm sure every CJ affiliate (or publisher as they like to call them) does not. The better we educate everyone the more we can do as a group to stop the parasites.
