In the form, use action="/cgi-bin/ae.pl" without the ../

You said that you are using virtual directory "/shop"; so what's wrong with "http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/shop/mode_300729/type_bestsellers/first_21/" ? That's the correct virtual URL.

many thanx for your quick reply and help

    got the search working using
    http://www.MYDOMAIN.co.uk/cgi-bin/ae.pl?type=search

as i use it in a few dif places,. slowly getting the hang of this

still have a problem on the More results front i dont know where the code is that could add mydomain.co.uk/dvd1st/ before the shop as the ae.pl i guess is creating the more result link dynamicaly ? on each results list page.

it needs that as this site is within my home domain in a folder called dvd1st

    http://www.mydomain.co.uk/dvd1st/shop/mode_300729/type_bestsellers/first_21/

i tested it and it worked like a dream pasted ina browser just dont know where in the ae.ini or what file/place to add this other folder ur (dvd1st) without mucking it up .

btw think this is a excellent script only realy beginning to scratch the surface of what it can do....

    many thanx again Saul

Use the support form and let you know the full URL (include your domain name) so I can see it myself. Thank you.

Your .htaccess file is probably set to use "/dvd1st/shop" as the virtual directory. But in your ae.ini file, you have virtual.dir "/shop". You have to set virtual.dir to the same directory, that is, "/dvd1st/shop".
