    Angry Affilate Payment Report Problem
    Hi Everyone,

Discovered yet another possible problem w/ Synergy Analytics tonight. I currently have three checks listed in the Affiliate Payment report. I've already received two of the checks for the amounts that are listed in the report. When I clicked on the Payment ID for each of these checks it brings up a breakdown of the merchants. I expected this breakdown to match the total amount of the checks that I received. Instead the breakdown is 2-3 times the amount that I received, which means Linkshare owes me a lot of money. Anyone else seeing this?

    Thumbs down
Okay, so after about an hour of waiting for my information to come up, I've finally found that I have 1 big payment but it says the "Number of Payments" is 3. I'm not sure how to break it down and I don't have the patience to wait another hour for the report to come up. I clicked the "Issued" link and it's doing it's regular 15 minute pause before any new information comes up. This system is ridiculously slow, I just can't believe any company would release something so mediocre and require thousands of clients to use it. In any event, I got 2 checks which add up to the value indicated here. I'm not sure why it says it'll be dispursed in 3 payments. It really doesn't make much sense to me. Linkshare really needs to get this thing fixed.

An hour? Damn, i thought mine was slow. I wonder what percentage of people just close it out instead of waiting. It's almost 5AM, don't think i'm going to wait any longer. I'm looking at 4 arrows going around and around in circles. I hope i don't have nightmares.

    edited to add

You know, i'm usually in a good mood, but this thing just pisses me off.

Every time i click, Request is being processed ... and then arrows going around in circles, around and around and around and around. If they can't speed this up somehow, they should just scrap it.

It's ok that it sucks, because it's a "beta". Just use the older regular reports that aren't beta.

    Ooops! There aren't any!

What you're seeing is the combined detail for all of your checks. You need to look at the detail for just a single check.

The easiest way I've found to get that is:

    1) Go to the Affiliate Payment Summary
    2) Click on Issued
    3) Change the pull-down from Merchant to Payment ID
    4) Click on the specific payment you're interested in

    Michael,

I am seeing the same as Todd. It is VERY misleading. How would anyone know to click on the Payment ID pulldown to get the correct amount? I expect to see a breakdown on the merchant payments when I click on the merchant name.

guess that solves one of the problems I mentioned in another thread... had it sorted by merchant instead of payment ID...

.... mine lists the amounts as 4 times the amount that was actually owed and paid... I saw this problem earlier in the reports (the first page) last month and they "fixed it"... guess they didn't follow their own cluster of clicks to find that the mistake went deeper...

Both times that I got to step 1 the server failed on step 2. It hangs for hours on end. It never stopped loading and simply locked up. Maybe it's just because I'm in a foreign country. I assume this sytem only works at a reasonable speed within 15 miles of New York.

On a side note, this software is definitely not beta. There's a reason software is called alpha and this truely defines alpha software. Alpha is usually extremely buggy and almost never makes it to production in the alpha state. Most companies are too ashamed to release it. Apparently that's not the case here.

    Hey Michael,

That's actually exactly what I'm doing. I'm looking at the detail for each check individually (Step 4) and the amounts don't match the check amounts which are displayed after Step 3. In all three cases the amount in the check detail is 2-3 times greater and overall there's a difference of over $4000.

I've already written my rep at Linkshare, so hopefully this will get resolved soon, but I would definitely encourage everyone to keep an eye out for this. Something is rotten in Denmark!

Thanks Gloria... From what I can see it looks like a bunch of merchant payments were applied to the checks after they were already cut, which led to the discrepancy. I can deal with that as long as I get paid the money owed to me.
