    homage to Genius
Haiko so generously allowed for us to associate ourselves with our innermost selves.

Moving on from here it is my privilege to pay homage to ABW's very own Resident Genius and Staunch Capitalist , whom I admire for his bottomless wisdom (esp. when it comes to the importance of content). So here it is, from The Beer Hunter to the Capitalist and real man of Genius :

PS: I still owe you a beer or 10 for this...

    Learn,

How's that Tiger beer? Better be good at $2 per can!! I've been enjoying this Tsingtao beer from China. Way better than "Taiwan Beer" brand alcohol.

    Hi Scott,

Tsingtao is a good one, too. We only get it by the bottle for about US$ 3.50 a pop. Tiger has this 'headace factor' included, so we are more towards the imported beers lately. We also have a couple of nice Micro Breweries (one actually at Riverside where you were), those are quite nice, too - just a bit steep at US$ 7.80 a pint.

    Cheers, Frank

Tell me about it!! We were on a mission to find a six pack and ended up only buying 4. I think it was around $12US for a 6 pack of Tiger. That just blew me away!! I've never seen beer so expensive.

Speaking of beer hunting, I was in Galesburg, IL last weekend for a family event. I had spent saturday evening looking for beer "not available in Nebraska".

"Elmwood Dunkel Weizen", brewed in Elmwood, IL, to the rescue! Wheat and toffee flavor accented with a hint of banana and grapefruit.

    For the love of...

In Germany they would hang you for brewing, selling or drinking stuff like that. Only water, barley (malt), yeast and hops...

Try buying beer in Utah. The grocery stores only have 3.2, so you have to buy it in a state store and pay thorugh the nose, and you still only have a limited variety.

Usually have to smuggle it across the state line.

could not agree more! In fact, the wife and I just now came back from our local Paulaner Microbrewery (in Singapore, owned by Lufthansa) and had exactly that. Impossible to beat in a hot climate!

Small world. I'm from Galesburg. I don't drink so I wouldn't know anything about local brew though.
