Smile 33% of SE Traffic from MSN, Google and Yahoo
It's truely a rare occasion that all 3 of the major engines are sending equal traffic. This is the first time I've had this happen with any of my sites. Pretty neat because one always seems to take up the slack when another drops. I wonder how long this state of equilibrium will last?

That's great. I would love to be in that situation. Then I would feel a lot more relaxed with every search engine update

I've never had that happen, not even close. I'm currently (and usually) at >90% mercy of the big 'G'.

Yahoo and MSN don't seem to like me, maybe it's because I'm not in DMOZ.

This particular site isn't in DMOZ, but it's gaining link popularity. I'm starting to see more natural incoming links from forums and link pages. It took a while to get into Yahoo, but it's worth the patience. As long as you build the pages first and foremost for your visitors, you'll do well in all the engines.

Yahoo likes my static pages, Google likes my dynamic pages(longer urls), MSN likes the index page of my websites.

Different sites have different SE giving them traffic, none are equal though. Links are one key to yahoo and msn also. Google is not as straight forward. IMO

Must be careful to not be too reliant on Google. We have made a concerted effort to pull traffic from other sources and our breakdown is:

    Google: 43%
    Yahoo: 21%
    MSN: 13%

Rest from other sources including offline advertising, directories, topsites etc.

One month later and my trinity is still going strong. Not only are they still sending me 33% each, but they're all sending incrementally more traffic as times goes on. Not to mention my word of mouth and return traffic is increasing. This site is now more content than sales, so I attribute my good fortunes to the increase in quality.

Mine has changed a lot over time.

    Google/Yahoo/MSN
    61%/34%/5% a long time ago
99%/1%/0% when Google really, really liked me
17%/47%/35% when they changed their mind
    7%/47%/47% more recently
