    Google Earth
Has anyone used the Google Earth program? I just downloaded and tried and it's pretty cool. The detail when zoomed in isn't that great but overall it looks good. You can get it at http://earth.google.com.

I just installed it, the program is awesome. They have 3d maps of building in large metropolitan areas (i.e. New York).

This is a great improvement from Keyhole 2. The loading time is much faster.

    Real cool.

I have spent a bunch of time here http://earth.jsc.nasa.gov/sseop/efs/ looking at Earth images. I could actually see my parents property on one of the high res images.

Just completed two hours of travelling round the world. Just viewing over the cities you have not visited is fun.

It's 8am overhere and I have not sleep yet, got to go. My head is still circling...

It's pretty cool... would love to see some better resolution outside of major cities, I guess that'll come eventually...

I wonder if there is a plan to have real-time images? Or close to real-time and not 3 year old images. Now that would be awesome.

Awesome to *look,* but creepy to think of being looked *at* that way! Imagine someone zooming in on your house with decent resolution:

"Hmm it's 3AM and the lights in his house are going on one after another...I guess he's got to take a sh*t..."

Geez how creepy. 300,000,000 Big Brothers.

It'd either put private investigators out of business, or DRAMATICALLY decrease their travel expenses.

Quick on that idea, I like it (minus the MIDI bg music!) hehe... It reminds me of a site that used to be popular about 4 years ago, it was like moneytree.com or something like that where you sit there and click somewhere on the tree and if you click the right spot you win some cash. Given, there was probably 1,000,000 coordinates and each few clicks made you view a new ad, anyway it was a good idea back when CMP rates were 2 cents per pageview.
